Duncan Dayton
We are privileged to welcome Duncan Dayton as our guest speaker at the Targa dinner: Saturday, February 23rd, 2013.
Duncan founded Highcroft Racing in 1989 as a foundation for his historic racing and to service customer cars.
Honing his skills in USAC Formula 2000, Duncan went on to race successfully in the American Le Mans series, and in 2006 ran a Lola EX-257 in the premier series, scoring multiple class victories.
In 2007 a further leap forward when Highcroft Racing was selected by Honda Performance Development to run the Acura ARX-01a prototype and again finished close to the top in the LMP2 class.
With an outright victory in 2008 and four class wins Highcroft narrowly missed winning the championship, but in 2009 took the overall honours and repeated in 2010, becoming the first American owned and based team to take back-to-back championships.
In 2011, a splendid 2nd place at the 12 Hours of Sebring, defeating factory Audi and Peugeot entries.
Involved from the beginning with Ben Bowlby’s amazing Nissan DeltaWing project – a unique racer which has half the weight, half the power, half the aerodynamic drag and half the fuel and tire consumption of a regular Le Mans Prototype
